Seal of the 7 Archangels: divine protection
Do you know the Seal of the 7 Archangels? This powerful tool for spiritual protection can be used to ward off negative forces, promote inner peace and ward off evil energies. Find out how to use the Seal of the 7 Archangels and how to make the most of its powers.
What is the Seal of the 7 Archangels? Meaning
The heptagram
The Seal of the 7 Archangels is modelled on a heptagram.
But what is it?
In Christian tradition, the heptagram represents the seven days of creation, and has become a symbol for warding off evil. In alchemical symbolism, a seven-pointed star generally represents the seven planets of the solar system, which were the only ones known to ancient alchemists.
Like everyone else, you've probably heard that the number 7 is perfect, that it's the number of divine perfection. There are 2 ways to draw the heptagram, as you can see below. The first heptagram (on the left) is the symbol used in Kabbalah and alchemy.
The second heptagram (on the right) is used by Wiccans under the name of elven star or fairy star, and for them is a sacred symbol.
Symbolism of the number seven
The symbolism of the number Seven is extremely vast, and can be found in many cultures, religions and myths.
It is a sacred number, often with a positive (and sometimes negative) value. For ancient authors, the number Seven was the symbol of cosmic harmony (seven planets, seven heavens, seven colors of the rainbow, seven notes of the scale, etc.). It refers to the idea of the totality of space and the totality of time. It is the union of the number Four, symbol of the earth, and the number Three, symbol of the sky, and in this way, it refers to the idea of the totality of space and the totality of time, but a dynamic totality, in movement, not frozen.
This is why the number seven is so often used in cyclical symbolism: it embodies a complete cycle, signifying its completion and renewal.
The origin and history of the seal of the 7 archangels
What is an Archangel?
References to the 7 archangels are common in various religious traditions, including Christianity, Judaism and Kabbalah.
Archangels first appear in the apocryphal biblical books of Enoch and Tobit, where they are described as the seven watchers who watch over mankind on God's behalf. In Hebrew, the term for angel is malakh, meaning " messenger "; the word "angel" comes from the Greek angelos, also meaning "messenger".
Archangels are equally present in Christianity and Islam, although there is no agreement as to their precise number, powers or name.
I sometimes see on certain websites that archangels are a category of angels. But angels and archangels don't belong to the same worlds, the same spheres of evolution. It would be like comparing stones and trees, or comparing trees and animals...
Angels are a higher reality that guides man in his life and acts on him in the same way as the earth that nourishes him, water, air, fire and light. The Angels of Light are virtues such as Harmony, Gentleness, Peace, Love and Respect.
In the Alliance of Light, the Archangels are the guardians of the gateway to the divine world. They are located in a higher sphere, a reign superior to the Angels. The 4 major Archangels are the Fathers of the four elements that make up the entire universe, their divine intelligence, their quintessence. As such, they alone maintain the cohesion of the cosmos and the great cycles of life that manifest themselves on Earth through the 4 seasons and the 4 elements:
- Archangel Michael and the element Fire.
- Archangel Raphael and the element Air.
- Archangel Gabriel and the element Water.
- Archangel Ouriel and the element Earth.
The Archangels manifest themselves in the human realm as superior divine intelligence, immutable laws and eternal wisdom.
It is said, notably in the Apocalypse and the Book of Enoch, that these 4 Archangels are the guardians of the gates of the divine world, surrounding the throne of the living God, the Father, the unique Source of all life and intelligence. The Archangels are the 4 faces of this throne, the 4 faces of the Father in the universe.
These 4 Archangels are the 4 great cosmic intelligences that maintain the cohesion and harmony of the entire universe.
What is a seal?
The term comes from the ancient science of magic, which has always been used for both good and evil. In esoteric science, a seal is a signature, a stamp, a writing that marks the belonging of a being or an object to a higher authority, whether collective or individual.
Archangel symbols
Below you'll find two sets of archangel seals created during the Renaissance. The first is from the work of Johann Georg Faust (1480-1540). Johann Georg Faust or Jean Faust was a Baden-Württemberg alchemist, astrologer and magician of the Renaissance. He inspired the Faust legend adapted by Christopher Marlowe in his play The Tragic History of Doctor Faust (1604) and by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in his masterpiece Faust (1808).
The other comes from the Grimoire d'Armadel, a 17th-century French treatise found in the Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal, Paris, which owes its fame in English occultist circles to its translation by occult specialist Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (1854-1918), founder of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
The Faust and Armadel archangel seals are rather complex, as they include symbols borrowed from astrological tradition, including those of the planets and signs of the zodiac, as well as Greek, Latin and Hebrew characters.
Seals were used as protective talismans and in magical rituals to invoke the power of the archangels and summon them to serve the purposes of occultism.
Many websites state that this seal comes from Armadel's Grimoire. However, whether Faust or Armadel, the seven seals are not combined into a single symbol. So to this day, we don't know the true origin of this symbol.
Personally, I imagine it was created by occultists.
How is the 7 Archangels Seal of Protection made?
The 7-pointed star is a talisman surrounded by two circles, one inside the other. The number 7 is full of symbolism, as we saw earlier. Examples include the 7 days of the week, the 7 bodies of the human being, the 7 notes of music, the 7 colors of the rainbow, the 7 archangels of God, the 7 deadly sins, the 7 chakras, and many more. Many correspondences are linked to this number.

What is the role of the 7 archangels?
The 7 Archangels represented on this protective talisman are
Archangel Michael
Archangel Michael is the Father of the fire element. He is the flame of life, the hidden presence of the Divine in all things, the quintessence of wisdom and the purest love. That's why it's said that only the righteous and the wise can approach Michael. In nature, he acts and manifests from the autumn equinox to the winter solstice.
Archangel Michael is linked to the energy of work.
Archangel Raphael
Archangel Raphael is the Father of the element air. He is the breath of life that calls all beings - including man - to blossom, to emerge from the earth, from the dark, limited world of outer forms, into the unlimited and into communion with the Angels. Raphael is the king of the sun, the one who makes everything grow. He acts and manifests himself in nature through springtime.
Archangel Raphael is linked to the energy of health.
Archangel Gabriel
Archangel Gabriel is the Father of the water element. Gabriel protects the mysteries of women, gestation and birth in all worlds, spiritual and material. He is the white mantle of snow and winter, preserving the seeds until spring's renewal. This is why it is said that the birth of Jesus was announced by the Archangel Gabriel. Archangel Raphael is linked to the energy of the family.
Archangel Tsafkiel
According to Kabbalah, Tsaphkiel is the archangel who directs divine justice, and is at the head of the army of divine judges (intelligences, or thrones). These angels of God were often mistaken for evil, because men didn't understand that a judge was just; they are the very justice of God, his purest personification. They are responsible for judging each of our actions and applying a precise and just karma, good or bad depending on the deed done.
Archangel Zadkiel
Zadkiel or Hesediel is the Archangel of freedom, benevolence and compassion. He is also the patron saint of mercy. He is also known as Tsadqiel, Sachiel, Zedekiel, Zadakiel, Tzadkiel, Zedekul and Hesediel.
Archangel Zadkiel is known as the Archangel of Mercy. He encourages and motivates people to turn to God for the mercy and forgiveness they need to heal from pain and overcome sin, freeing them to move forward with their lives in healthier ways.
Archangel Zadkiel is linked to Sephira Hesed, the fourth sphere of the Sephiroth tree, corresponding to divine mercy and forgiveness.
Archangel Samuel (Chamuel)
Camael, Chamael or Chamuel, is one of the archangels traditionally considered to be the leader of the Choir of Powers. Assimilated to the sun, he is regularly associated with notions of justice, success, willpower, love and courage. His role is also to pacify human relationships.
He is linked to the heart. He helps us to follow our path and eases tensions.
Archangel Haniel (Anael)
Haniel is also known as Hananel , Anael , Aniel, or Hanael. Haniel is generally associated with the planet Venus and is the archangel of the Netzach sephirah. The name Haniel derives from the Hebrew Ḥēn, meaning "grace, favor, charm" (qualities associated with Venus) + the suffix -ʾĒl, "God". Equivalent to the Phoenician name "Hannibal".
He deals with human beings on a sentimental and sexual level. Some speak of clairvoyant gifts, but I haven't found any information on this subject.
The 7 planets
In the center of the heptagram, we find the symbols of the 7 planets, associated with the 7 days of the week.
The planets in the center, found in their written and symbolic form, have correspondences with the elements of Nature, parts of the human body, or areas of life. They are used in occult sciences, magic and alchemy.
Planets | Associations | Elements | Character | Domain |
Sun | Sunday, Yellow, Gold | Fire (hot and dry), or heat principle | Beneficial and favorable | Hope, happiness, gain and inheritance. |
Moon | Monday, White, Silver | Water (cold and wet) | Melancholy, cyclotomic | Wounds, dreams and petty theft. |
Mercury | Wednesday, Shaded colors, Bright-silver (Mercury) | Earth (cold and dry) | Inconstant | Illnesses, debts, commerce and fear. |
Venus | Friday, Green, Copper | Air (warm and humid) or moisture principle | Generous and fertile | Friendships and love. |
Mars | Tuesday, Red, Iron | Fire (hot and dry) | Ardent | War, prisons, marriages and hatreds. |
Jupiter | Thursday, Blue, Tin | Air (warm and humid | Temperate and benign | Honor, wishes, wealth and property. |
Saturn | Saturday, Black, Lead | Earth (cold and dry) or cold principle | Sad, gloomy and cold | Life, change, science and buildings. |
The 7 Olympian spirits
What is a spirit?
Every act or activity performed by man is animated by spirits, forces of nature. Depending on his level of consciousness, man calls upon luminous spirits, bringing life, or sick spirits, conveying death, in everything he does.
Olympian spirits are found in several occult science and magic books: Le Grimoire d'Arbatel (not to be confused with Le Grimoire d'Armadel) or Le Grimoire de Turiel, for example.
L'Arbatel De Magia Veterum (Arbatel: De la magie des Anciens) is a 16th-century magic grimoire. The first Latin edition was published in Basel in 1575. German translations subsequently circulated, with Paracelsus as author, although the true author remains unknown. His knowledge of medieval and Renaissance magic, however, certainly makes him a disciple of Paracelsus.
Le Grimoire Secret de Turiel is, despite its brevity, a complete system of ceremonial magic. The original manuscript, written in Latin, was dated 1518.
This text is one of the very few dedicated to the Olympian spirits.
Olympian (or Olympic) spirits are invoked during rituals and are associated with the planets.
In the Grimoire d'Arbatel it is written:
"Olympic spirits are those who inhabit the firmament and the stars of the firmament. Their function is to execute destiny, to administer fateful events as much as God pleases and allows, so that no evil demon, no evil fate can harm the one who sits in the shadow of the Most High. Every Olympian spirit teaches and accomplishes all that the star over which it presides foretells; yet it can do nothing from power to deed without divine permission. Indeed,God alone gives it this power and this action "
(...)
" Seven are the powers or offices proper to the spirits to whom God has entrusted the direction of the machien of the world. Their visible others are Aratron, bethor, Phaleg, Och, Hagith, Ophiel, Phul, in the Olympian language."
Aratron is in charge of the natural things he produces, which correspond to his milieu, and which the astronomy of grace attributes to Saturnian virtues.
Bethor governs what is attributed to Jupiter; he arrives as soon as he is invoked. Whoever is worthy to trace his character is elevated by him to the highest dignities, put in possession of his treasures.
Phaleg presides over things attributed to Mars, prince of peace. The one to whom he gives his character is raised to the highest dignities in the art of war.
Och presides over solar things and gives 600 years of life with robust health; he distributes supreme wisdom, he sends very beautiful spirits etc.
Hagith governs the things of Venus: he makes very beautiful the one who is worthy of possessing his character and adorns him with all nobility.
Ophiel is governor of the things of Mercury. His spirits form 100,000 legions: he easily gives familiar spirits, he teaches all the arts and he who is honored with his character can instantly change quicksilver into philosopher's stone.
Phul delights in this character.
By word and deed, he changes all metals into silver; he governs lunar things, cures dropsy, gives ondins who serve man in corporeal and visible form: he makes people live 300 years.

How to activate the Seal of the 7 Archangels?
You can consciously connect to the Seal of the 7 Archangels, now that you have a better understanding of its symbolism.
I know that some people will tell you that there is a way of activating certain symbols, but I personally believe that the term activation is a misnomer. Symbols act on their own, since each shape emits a wave. This is what we call form waves.
Then, you can indeed add an intention to amplify the action and radiance of your symbol. It's a personal choice.
Why wear the Seal of the 7 Archangels pendant or medal?
By definition, a talisman has a very specific purpose, which is maintained over time. Not only does it protect, it also defends something or someone against a concrete danger. There is a wide variety of talismans, all under the influence of the planets and the Zodiac, which increase their power.
Many occultists have sought to trace the distant origins of talismans, but so far it has not been possible to establish any concrete data. The only indisputable evidence to date points to the fact that talismans were highly prized in Egypt at the time of Necho II, King of Egypt of the XXVI Dynasty (609-594 B.C. J.-C.).
Thanks to the testimonies of Pliny, Petrarch and Virgil, we know how powerful talismans were in Greece. Virgil was said to have occult powers, which is why he attached so much importance to talismans.
This is the case with the Seal of the 7 Archangels, which combines different symbols: the Archangels, the Olympian spirits, and the influences of the planetary stars. Like all sacred geometry symbols, it is a true tool of transformation.
We have selected our jewelry with care. Our jewelry is made of high-quality stainless steel.
We have chosen 2 pendant models: 1 silver-plated and 1 19-carat gold-plated. All our jewelry comes with a chain and gift box.
Wearing this sacred pendant around your neck will protect you from negative energies, and raise your vibratory level. You can feel its powerful vibrations just by looking at it.
Using the Seal of the 7 Archangels
This seal is particularly useful as a protective talisman for your home. It will transform the negative energies of your space into a more zen and healthy place where you'll feel good. On canvas or on an energizing tray, it's sure to make an impact.
If we put aside for a moment all the symbols represented in the seal, the heptagram is the symbol of divine perfection. So, like all the symbols of sacred geometry, it can be used to hold stones, water, etc.
It can also be used for magical and spiritual work.
Depending on how you want to use it, we've decided to print it on different media. Our best advice is to listen to what you feel!
