Decagon: symbol with unique properties

The decagon, a polygon with ten equal sides, is an emblematic figure of sacred geometry. It symbolizes inner harmony, completeness, and the power to anchor intentions in matter. The number 10, which composes it, carries a vibration of accomplishment, realization, and perfect balance between the spiritual and earthly worlds.

Since ancient times, this fascinating shape has been used in various spiritual and esoteric traditions for its powerful waveforms. In dowsing, radionics, but also in meditation and energy purification practices, the decagon acts as a true amplifier of subtle energy.

At Mandalashop, we are committed to reviving these ancestral symbols by offering vibrational creations that combine meaning, aesthetics, and quality craftsmanship. On this page, you'll find a selection of decagonal objects designed to assist you in your quest for well-being, whether to protect a space, raise your vibration, or simply harmonize your inner space.

Decagon, a ten-sided geometric figure, symbolizing balance and harmony

Regular decagon or star decagon (decagram)

In geometry, a decagram is a star polygon with 10 vertices. There is only one regular decagram, which can be constructed from the regular decagon by connecting the vertices 3 by 3.

A decagon is a polygon with ten sides and ten interior angles. It is derived from the Latin words "deka", meaning ten, and "gonia", meaning angle. A defining characteristic of a decagon is that all its sides have equal lengths and all its interior angles have equal measures. The sum of a decagon's interior angles is 1440 degrees, with each angle measuring 144 degrees.

A decagon has several geometric properties that make it an intriguing shape to study. One of its most notable features is rotational symmetry. It can be rotated in multiples of 36 degrees around its center and still look the same, as each side and angle retains its relative position. This property makes the decagon aesthetically pleasing and well-balanced.

What do you call a 10-sided polygon?

The decagram is a 10-pointed star that has been a powerful symbol since Antiquity.

The number 10 symbolizes the realization of unity, the totality of the universe, and for the Pythagoreans it was sacred.

Pythagoras (570-480 BC. J.-C.), after visiting almost every temple in the world and collecting their esoteric teachings, presented himself at the gates of the temples of Egypt. He bowed to the supremacy of the wisdom of the Egyptian hierophants and climbed, one by one, all the steps leading to the Initiation of the Sons of the Sun. At a time when superstition had taken over the consciousness of the Greek people, reducing the sublime teachings of Orpheus to dead letters, Pythagoras re-established the School of the Mysteries and instituted a true education for man: spiritual, intellectual, moral and artistic. His influence extended beyond the borders of Greece.

One of the foundations of his numerology teachings was the Tetrakis (or tetraktys).

The Pythagorean tetraktys

If we add 1 + 2 + 3 + 4, we get 10, the Pythagorean tetraktys.

The 10 is the decimal system, the 1 with the 0, i.e. the Father with the whole. Our ancestors drew it as the symbol of the sun, man in the whole, man united with the whole. For them, everything was mathematics, geometry, and all these numbers were forces and influences.

Illustration of Pythagoras with the tetraktys, a symbol of universal harmony and divine structure through numbers

- At the top, a single point representing the One or Divine and the primordial intention of creation;
- The 2 points below represent the origin of manifestation (masculine/feminine, lingam/yoni, light/dark);
- The 3 points below represent the 3 planes (lower, earthly, celestial) and the three levels of life (physical, psychic and spiritual);
- The 4 points below at the base represent the earth, the four elements, the four seasons and the four cardinal points.

This whole constitutes a decad, and this decad and the decagram symbolize the totality of the created and uncreated universe.
A decad is also the basis of Kabbalah transmission with the ten sefirots of the Tree of Life, which are emanating powers from the Absolute.

At the center of the decagram is the decagon, a ten-sided polygon that makes an excellent energetic shield, used in radionics, for various situations of aggression or as a dynamizer.

The mystique of the golden ratio

The mystique of numbers goes back to the Pythagoreans. For them, numbers had a symbolic value. The number "one" represented reason, for only reason could produce a consistent and harmonious body of knowledge. Even numbers were feminine f numbers, and odd numbers were masculine.

The number "two", the first even number, symbolized opinion, since the notion of opinion implies the possibility of a contrary opinion, and therefore of at least two opinions.

The number "three", the first triangular number, is also the first masculine number. The number "four" symbolized justice and fairness, as it was the first number obtained by multiplying equal numbers, i.e. the first square number.

As we saw earlier, the sequence of the first four integers 1,2,3,4 was called the Tetractys, and their sum 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 gives the Decade. The Tetractys was so important to the Pythagoreans that it is explicitly mentioned in the formula of the sacred oath by which their members committed themselves to secrecy.

The mystical value of the Tetractys was based as much on the symbols constituted by the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4 as on the numerical relationships between these numbers.

What's more, certain musical ratios are obtained by the ratio of the numbers in the Tetractys: 1/2 gives the octave, 3/4 the fourth and 2/3 the fifth.

For the Pythagoreans, the Decad was the ideal number symbolizing the universe as they conceived it in accordance with this belief. For them, there were ten moving bodies in the heavens: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun, the Moon and the starry sphere. In addition, the earth revolved around a central fire that could not be seen because it was on the uninhabited side of the earth, its light and heat reflected by the Sun. The tenth body was called Antikton or anti-Earth. This body was also in revolution around the central fire, but on the opposite side of the Earth, so could not be seen.

Furthermore, if we divide the Decade by two, we obtain the Pentad, which symbolized marriage, as the number "five" is the union of "two", the first even or feminine number, and "three", the first masculine number. These considerations created a close relationship between the mysticism of the numbers ten and five and the mysticism of the golden ratio through the decagon and pentagon. So it's hardly surprising that the Pythagoreans regarded the pentagram (star pentagon) as a symbol of perfection, life, beauty and love, and used it as a sign of recognition.

This mysticism underpinned the use of the pentagram in the arts, both for aesthetic purposes and to invoke or propitiate secret forces. The pentagram is found in the rose windows of certain cathedrals, such as Saint-Ouen church in Rouen, Amiens cathedral and Saint-Rémi church in Troyes. It also features on the coat of arms and flag of Morocco and on the flags of several other countries.

The pentagonal structures found in certain flowers and starfish, as well as spiral growths, are further motifs that give the golden ratio a special meaning and associate it with beauty.

Meaning of the Decagon in sacred geometry

In the language of sacred geometry, the decagon is associated with the number 10, considered the symbol of completeness and accomplished unity. It represents the perfect balance between the material world (4, matter) and the spiritual world (6, the soul), forming a harmonious structure conducive to the elevation of consciousness.

The decagon also evokes divine order, self-realization, and the passage to a higher level of evolution. It embodies the realization of intentions, inner alignment, and the manifestation of potential in the real world. Its symmetrical structure refers to peace, universal balance, and the perfection of cosmic laws.

The benefits of the Decagon

The decagon is recognized as a powerful waveform, used in dowsing, radionics, and various energy practices for its harmonizing effects. It acts as a vibrational amplifier, capable of:

• Protecting a place or person from disruptive energies
• Raising the vibrational level of a space or object
• Promoting concentration, mental clarity, and grounding
• Stimulating the fulfillment of intentions and projects
• Strengthening inner harmony and emotional stability

Placed in an environment or used during meditations or rituals, this geometric shape becomes a valuable energetic tool for promoting overall balance and well-being.

How to use a decagon in practice? (protection, energization, purification)

The decagon to energize your food

We've chosen to create a triple decagon with the 12 circles inside, like those used by Hildegarde de Bingen (visionary healer) and Roger Gascon (well-known author of a book on the decagon, which I'm desperately looking for at an affordable price... a little message in passing).

The use of several decagons (in this case 3) reinforces the action required.

In his book "La Radionique Kabbalistique", Roger Gascon tells us about the radiant decagon. This is a double decagon with 12 circles at its center.

Why radiant?

Because it radiates powerful materializing energy from its center. The decagon itself is endowed with this type of characteristic. The 12 circles materialize a powerful impregnation.

The union of the two leads to an exceptional radionic plank.

Its use is very simple: simply place a photo (or a lock of hair) on the central point and over it the appropriate formula. Leave untouched for 9 days, then remove the indicators. If nothing happens during this time, wait a week and try again. If after three times nothing has happened, ask yourself if your request is really legitimate, or at least if it's really good for you.

Using the triple decagon to energize our everyday products (liquids, foods and therapeutic products) is becoming a necessity due to their poor vibratory quality (other sacred geometry symbols are also suitable). This is mainly due to the long storage of these products, even if they are organic and natural.

But freezing and cooking also collapse the good natural vibration of your products.

Using the decagon on a glass plate or wooden tray will be a very good dynamizer. It will increase the vibratory quality of all your food or drinks and promote good health.

For foods or remedies, simply place them in the center of the decagone dynamizing plate for 30 minutes to increase their effectiveness.

Universal amplifier in radionics

Used in radionics, this symbol possesses an astonishing power: that of vitalizing and charging an object for a specific purpose.

Radionics is a discipline of dowsing. The principle is simple: radionics uses form waves to act at a distance. Have you ever "sent good waves" to a loved one in difficulty? It's the same principle.

But radionics goes further than simple intention, proposing to amplify the vibrations sent. This is where either devices or form waves come into play.

Radionics involves the use of a 2- or 3-dimensional transmitter, i.e. a more or less complex geometric shape, such as a pyramid or dodecahedron.

The "shape waves", also known as "shape emissions", which are naturally emitted by the geometric shapes chosen to design the transmitter, serve as a vector for transmitting information.

The decagon, and more specifically the triple decagon, is an indispensable symbol for all radiesthesists and radionists, as it is used to manufacture artificial witnesses and remedies according to the principles of radionics.

What we mean by witnesses are the bodily elements of the person to be worked on (hair, blood, etc.). When such elements are not accessible, artificial witnesses with the same powers as natural ones are used to compensate.

The decagon is one of the most powerful geometrical tracings, tuned to the 10 fingers of the hand and neutralizing all discordances. It can thus contribute to the realization of a beneficial program.

It can be used to purify your crystal and your witnesses before any new programming; it has the particularity of canceling all negative elements.

The triple decagon emits increased power.

Other fascinating uses for the decagon

Used in Radiesthesia, Radionics, Geobiology, Reiki and even Yoga (for meditation), the decagon is a sacred shape with astonishing properties.

Its field of application is multiple and it is used for:
- protection
- purification
- healing
- increasing the vibratory rate of objects, places and people....
- to increase the properties and effectiveness of a remedy, plant, elixir, stone,
- a crystal...
- to make wishes come true
- to help another person at a distance...

It's easy to use. Simply place the witness (object, name, photo...) and your intention in the center of the decagon.

Let's take a concrete example: you want to purify your house.

How do you go about it?

On a piece of paper, write "MY HOUSE" in capital letters.

On another piece of paper, place your intention: "PURIFY ALL NEGATIVE ENERGY".

Then place both papers in the center of the decagon for at least 30 minutes.

Another example if you're too stressed:

Write on a piece of paper "RELAXATION AND SERENITY" and place it in the center of the decagon.

Then take a glass of water and place it on the paper. Let the water soak in this information for 30 minutes or more, then drink it to transmit the information to your cells.

For therapists: during your treatment or consultation, place the person's name or photo in the center of the decagon and set your intention to multiply the effectiveness of your intervention.

Important note:

As a general rule, orient the triple decagon towards the north. Place the object to be energized in the center. Place in an area out of sight. Leave for 24 to 48 hours (depending on use).

If you feel the need, purify your triple decagon by passing it through the smoke of benzoin or white sage incense.

How to activate a decagon?

A decagon, as a symbol of sacred geometry, has an intrinsic energy that naturally acts on its environment. However, to maximize its effects, it may be interesting to carry out an activation, although it is not essential. Activating a decagon means intentionally programming or charging it with a specific intention, such as harmonizing a space, promoting meditation or energizing the energy of an object. To do this, start by purifying it with incense, or a clear intention. Then, place your hands above the decagon, visualize your intention clearly and express it verbally or mentally. You can also meditate with the decagon, placing it under your hands or nearby, to strengthen the energetic connection. This activation practice, although optional, allows you to establish a more conscious and personal relationship with the symbol.

How do you make and draw a regular decagon in a circle?

Here are some key features to remember:

A regular decagon is one whose ten sides have the same length and whose internal angles have the same measure. There are two types: star-shaped and convex. The latter is what we mean when we say "regular decagon". It can be constructed using a ruler and compass.

The decagon is a geometric construction with the same length of line segment, in line.

The sum of the internal angles of a regular decagon is 1440°.

Here's a rather simple way of drawing your regular decagon:

1. Draw a circle (c1) with center O; draw a diameter [IA] of this circle, then the circle (c2) with center I and radius IA.

2. Construct a straight line [IB] perpendicular to the perpendicular bisector [IA]. Draw the line (BO). It intersects the small circle (c1) at J. BJ is the radius of circle (c3), corresponding to one tenth of the perimeter of circle (c2).

3. Construct the circle (c3) with center B, passing through J. This circle meets the large circle (c2) at B1 and B9. Transfer the distance BB1 to this large circle: note this point B2. Continue in the same way to obtain the vertices of a regular decagon.

4. Connect the different vertices to obtain a regular decagon.

A regular decagon can be constructed from a regular pentagon by inserting 5 new points at the midpoints of the arcs of the regular pentagon.
