Why don't symbols (always) work?

Hello Véronique,

Since I read your article three months ago, I immediately created a decagon and placed my request inside it.
But I haven't seen any change.
What's going on?

Thanks a lot.

Jaime

This message, sincere and full of expectation, sums up a question that many people ask themselves, sometimes in silence: "Do the symbols of sacred geometry really work?"

This type of testimony comes up regularly, and it's precious. It urges us to take an honest look at what sacred symbols really are... and what we project onto them.

When we discover sacred geometry, we are often amazed. We tell ourselves that these powerful, ancestral, vibratory shapes will change everything in our lives. And sometimes, yes, they act with surprising force.

But other times, nothing seems to happen.

Does this mean that the symbol is ineffective? Have we done something wrong?

Not necessarily.

Human beings are complex systems. Each of us carries a unique history, wounds, impulses, conscious and unconscious beliefs. What works for one does not react in the same way in another. Symbols, as powerful as they are, interact with our experiences, our qualities, our obstacles, our level of awareness... and above all, our capacity to open up to change.

So when "nothing happens", it's not necessarily a failure. It's often an invitation to look deeper.

In this article, I'd like to explore why sacred symbols don't always produce the expected results - and, above all, how you can use them more consciously and vividly.

Symbols: a magic wand?

When we discover a sacred symbol, we may be tempted to see it as a kind of "universal key", a tool that will resolve our blockages, manifest our desires or heal our wounds. And in a way, it's true: sacred symbols are powerful, transformative, vibratory.

But it's essential to understand that a symbol is not a magic wand. It doesn't do things "for us", or without our conscious participation. It doesn't work like a mathematical formula where we insert an intention and automatically receive a result.

The symbol acts as a bridge:

- A bridge between the visible and the invisible,
- A bridge between our inner world and the Cosmic Order,
- A bridge between our human consciousness and our divine nature.

It puts us in resonance with a particular frequency - that of sacred geometry, universal harmony, the divine plan. But it's only when we use this bridge with confidence and constancy that the inner journey really begins.

Like stones: it all depends on the relationship

A very telling parallel can be drawn with stones and crystals. Many people buy an amethyst, labradorite or black tourmaline in the hope that it will "do the job" for them: protect them, soothe them, rebalance them.

But here again, it's all a question of relationship.

A stone is alive, vibrant. But it interacts differently with each person, depending on their openness, sensitivity and current needs. Some will feel its energy very strongly. Others, nothing at all - not because it "doesn't work", but because there's no vibratory tuning or receptivity yet.

It's exactly the same with sacred symbols.

Each person vibrates differently with a symbol

We don't all vibrate at the same frequency. What opens a door for me may remain neutral or even uncomfortable for you. There are no failures or mistakes. Just a personal, unique path.

The same symbol - for example, the Decagon, the Flower of Life or the Merkaba - can produce very different effects depending on:

- our inner state,
- our level of consciousness,
- our emotional availability,
- our spiritual history.

One person will immediately feel profound peace, mental clarity, a boost of energy. The other will feel nothing... or face inner resistance, buried emotions, questioning.

And that's perfectly fair.

The symbol does not give you what you want, it puts you in front of what you need to evolve.

A living relationship with sacred geometry

The symbol should not be seen as a fixed object. It is a living presence with which we can dialogue, journey and learn. It's a companion on our journey, a silent teacher, a revealer of our light and shadow zones.

Inviting it into your life doesn't just mean putting it on a table or writing a wish in the center. It's about creating a bond of heart, awareness and trust.

So yes, it takes time, patience and sometimes even courage.

But that's where the real alchemy begins.

3 reasons why "it doesn't work" (or not as you'd hope)

1. Passive waiting

Putting a request in a symbol and expecting a result, without any further inner commitment, is like sowing a seed without watering it.

The symbol doesn't replace our path, it accompanies it, supports it, makes it clearer. But it doesn't do it for us.

It invites us to be present, to be constant, to open our hearts.

🌱 Suggestion: meditate regularly with your symbol. Take time for silence, for listening, for inner dialogue. This living connection with the symbol activates its radiance.

2. An unaligned or confused request

Sometimes our request is too vague, or stems from a desire of the mind rather than a need of the soul. We want to change an external situation, but we don't necessarily understand what it's teaching us.

In this case, the symbol doesn't respond to our expectations, but to our deepest need.

And it's not always the same thing.

🌿 Suggestion: reformulate your intention with clarity and humility. Ask for what's right for you, even if it's different from what you imagine.

3. Unconscious resistance

Symbols can awaken memories, fears and deep-seated blockages. Sometimes it acts first as a revealer, before becoming a liberator.

And in this phase, it can feel as if "nothing is changing"... when in fact everything is beginning to fall into place invisibly.

Do we really know what's right for us?

Over the years, as I've gained experience and talked to people in search of meaning, a profound truth has become clear to me: we think we know what's right for us... but we're often mistaken.

We make requests, express wishes, set intentions, with all our heart. And that's beautiful. But we often make them from our personality, our mind, our desires - which are, let's be honest, sometimes mixed with fear, attachment, confusion.

We want things to go faster. To be simpler. Less painful. More comfortable. And that's human.

But what we think is right for us isn't always.

Only a Higher Intelligence - which I like to call the Great Architect of the Universe - knows the whole plan. He knows what we have come to learn, integrate and transcend. He knows the cycles we must go through. He knows the links between our present choices and our past experiences.

What I believe to be an injustice today... may be a healing in the making.
What I experience as a blockage... may be a protection.

We see one piece of the puzzle. He sees the whole.

So, over time, I've learned to formulate my requests differently. No longer as demands or wish lists to be fulfilled, but as inner offerings, accompanied by this simple but powerful phrase:

"If it's right for me, show me the way."

And that changes everything.

For it opens the door to something more vast, greater, truer. It allows the symbol to act not according to my expectations, but according to the cosmic order, which is never wrong.

How to resonate with a sacred geometry symbol

We tend to believe that simply possessing a sacred symbol is enough for it to act. We print it, wear it, put it on a wall... and expect it to automatically produce effects in our lives.

But as we've seen, a symbol is not a simple decorative object, nor an energetic automaton. It's a living presence, a universal archetype that resonates with who we are - or who we're becoming.

For this resonance to be real, a relationship must be born.

And like any relationship, it requires attention, sensitivity and commitment.

Here are a few concrete ways to nurture this subtle link:

1. Creating a sacred space

Start by giving your mandala or symbol a symbolic and respectful place. Choose a quiet, clean, bright place if possible.

Install the symbol as you would a sacred being in your own home. You can add a candle, incense, a stone or a flower. This is not superstition: it's an act of gratitude.

You're signaling to the universe - and to yourself - that you're open to receive and dialogue.

2. Connecting with awareness

Take a few moments to center yourself. Take a deep breath. Close your eyes.
Then open them and look at the symbol as if it were going to speak to you - because it will, but in its own way: beyond words.

Let your gaze gently settle on its shapes, lines and curves. Feel it. Welcome what comes, without seeking to interpret. Perhaps a sensation, an image, a word, an emotion...

This is what it means to enter into resonance. It's not a mental act, it's a vibratory, intuitive experience.

3. Formulate a clear, aligned intention

A symbol acts like an antenna: it picks up, amplifies and redistributes the energy of your intention. But your intention must be clear, sincere and aligned.

Ask yourself:

"What do I really want?
"Is this a request from my heart or a reaction from my ego?"
"Am I ready to receive what I'm asking for... even if it comes otherwise?"

Then, you can formulate your intention aloud or write it down and place it under or within the symbol (depending on its form).

Always add this essential opening:

"May it come true if it's right for me, in divine order, at the perfect moment."

4.
Create a regular ritual

As with any living relationship, regularity nourishes the bond.

Take a few minutes every day or week to reconnect with your symbol. This can be a meditation, a moment of silence, a simple "inner hello".

Observe what changes in you. What rises. What breaks free.

Remember: transformation often begins silently, gently, invisibly.

5. Observing signs and synchronicities

When you work with a sacred symbol, life often responds to you... but not always in the way you expect.

An encounter, a sudden intuition, a dream, a message "by chance": these are all symbolic responses to your request.

Pay attention. Take note of what happens. Keep a little diary if you like. This will help you weave links between the visible and the invisible.

In conclusion: an invitation to journey together

If you've read this far, you too are probably feeling the call to understand, to move forward, to live a more conscious, more grounded, truer spirituality.

And that's a beautiful thing.

Working with a sacred symbol isn't about "getting something" like ticking a box on a list. It's a living process, often mysterious, sometimes confusing, but always meaningful.

It's a path towards oneself.

A path towards something greater than oneself.

And on this path, the questions are as precious as the answers. So I invite you, my readers, to dare to ask yours.

I'm here to answer you.

You can email me, leave a comment under this article, or even suggest a theme to explore. Your question might also become a new article - like this one, written in response to Jaime's beautiful message, which I warmly thank for its sincerity and trust.

Because through an individual question, it's often a universal truth that seeks to reveal itself.

What if we made this blog a place for exchange, exploration and living sharing?
A space where everyone can move forward at their own pace, enlightened by symbols... and by the light of others.

I read you with joy,
and I say see you very soon to continue this path of consciousness together. ✨
