Merkaba: everything you've never been told

By : Veronique - Categories : All about symbols

The Merkaba, a powerful symbol imbued with mystery and deep spiritual meaning, is intimately linked to spiritual evolution and human well-being. This activation of the Merkaba, described in the Book of Ezekiel and explored through methods such as Ma'asseh Merkaba or Maassé Merkavah, offers a method of guided meditation, anchored in sacred geometry and the principles of energy circulation. The star tetrahedra, representing the masculine and feminine tetrahedron, form the energy field of the lightbody, allowing the individual to travel to higher dimensions.

In a mystical context dating back to ancient Egypt and the study of Babylon, the Merkaba has been described as the chariot of the cherubim, conveying the flow of energy and opening the doors of consciousness to new perspectives. Meditation sessions and mental visualization techniques are key tools for activating this potential, allowing the individual to transcend the limitations of time and space to access higher levels of consciousness.

The beneficial effects of this activation would be numerous, ranging from unconditional love to physical vitality, including the release of emotional blockages and the harmonization of electromagnetic fields. Wisdom masters, from ancient times to the present, have explored and taught the use of Merkaba as an essential tool for spiritual evolution and overall well-being.

In this article, we will explore in depth the history, meaning and use of Merkaba(h), examining its connection to concepts such as the Flower of Life, the Third Eye and the Vision of the Heavenly Throne, all emphasizing its importance in the journey towards higher consciousness and self-realization.

Merkaba or Merkabah? Definition and meaning

When I received the book "Merkaba: Les Fabuleux Pouvoirs" by Patrick Denoyer, I found myself thinking, "Finally, someone who delves into the various facets of the Merkaba!" You see, there's an abundance of information on the internet, most of which I strongly disagree with.

Chances are, you've come across the term Merkaba before, but can you truly define what it represents? What is its purpose? It's often described as a body of light. But is it a state of being, a spiritual path, or an object stemming from sacred geometry? To make things more bewildering, sometimes it's referred to in the masculine form, and at other times, in the feminine.

The whole concept can be incredibly perplexing.

So, in this article, I aim to offer you a fresh perspective.

A Merkaba, spelled without an "h," signifies an initiate, a shaman, or a Master (not in the sense of ascended masters, but true Masters within the Tradition of Light, such as Jesus, Buddha, Peter Deunov, or Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov).

On the other hand, a Merkabah, spelled with an "h," denotes the process of constructing a body of light, with the hope of one day attaining the status of a Merkaba.

Lastly, a Merkaba, again without an "h," refers to an object—a dual Seal of Solomon (or Star of David), originating from sacred geometry. Known as a star tetrahedron, it takes the form of a three-dimensional, eight-pointed star with two triangular pyramids—one pointing upwards and the other downwards.

References to the Merkaba can be traced back to the foundational texts of Judaism, as the symbol is mentioned in the first chapter of the book of Ezekiel.

In this article, I will explore all three aspects, because no one typically discusses the Merkaba/h in this manner.

Merkaba or vehicle of light?

The concept of the Merkaba, often referred to as a "vehicle of light," is a fascinating exploration. According to online sources, the Merkaba is described as a luminous field generated by the rapid rotation of specific geometric shapes, which simultaneously influence the body and mind of a human being. It is envisioned as a means to assist the body, mind, and spirit in accessing and experiencing alternate realms of reality or untapped life potential. By doing so, it facilitates the journey toward elevated states of awareness and assists individuals in realizing their fullest capabilities.

Interestingly, the term "Ma'at" finds its origins in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and translates to "Truth." In legend, "Ma'at" is considered the embodiment of mental clarity, signifying integrity and sincerity with oneself. In Arabic, this word takes on the meaning of a "boat" or "vehicle." In contemporary Egypt, the boat of Isis is still referred to as the Merkaba. In Hebrew, the term carries dual meanings, representing both a chariot and the Throne of God. The chariot, or "mer-ka-ba," is believed to be our vehicle of light, capable of guiding us into alternate realities (other dimensions of space-time) with the ultimate destination being the "Father's house," symbolizing a profound spiritual experience. It is also thought to empower us as creators of our own reality in the physical world.

Activating our Merkaba vehicle is believed to entail the reawakening of successive dormant electromagnetic fields that surround our physical bodies.

Taking a deeper dive into esotericism, the word "Merkaba" is an ancient language linked to the secret tradition of Israel known as the Kabbalah.

The origins of the word "Kabbalah" are shrouded in the mists of time. Contrary to popular belief, it did not originate with the Jews, although it is the esoteric doctrine of Judaism, passed down by Moses to an inner circle of disciples.

In the Egyptian hieroglyphic language, the three syllables—ka, ba, and la—correspond to the bull, the bird, and the sun, respectively, symbolizing the union of body, soul, and spirit. The Egyptians regarded Pharaoh as the guardian of this sacred union between Father and Mother, spirit and matter. Pharaoh was seen as the soul of Light, the bird of the sun, the falcon Horus, descending from the heavens to lead the entire Earth into the Sun and the realm of the Father. This is why Pharaoh was referred to as "Kabala" or the Great House, symbolized by the pyramid, a perfect representation of the unity of heaven and earth, the visible and the invisible.

For the Essenes, Kabbalah represented the body of the Master, who was seen as the "bread of life," embodying divine teachings that restored harmony and peace to all realms, offering a pathway to immortality.

"Ka" represented the body of Tradition, manifested in the world through Pharaoh, the Master, who was the custodian of the timeless, primordial tradition. This is why Jesus, as the representative of the Essene tradition, stated: "No one can go to the Father without passing through me," signifying the necessity of traversing the living tradition incarnated by a prepared and consecrated individual.

"Ba" signified the soul of Tradition, opening the path to flight into higher realms and union with spirit.

"La" embodied the spirit of Tradition, representing the Father. In the musical scale, it corresponded to the note that harmonized all other notes, symbolizing the origin, the center, and the pinnacle—the living unity of multiple voices.

The initiatory path of the Merkabah: creating a body of Light

What you must grasp is that much of what you commonly encounter about the Merkabah on the internet often delves into spiritual abstractions. The risk is that one may become lost, venturing into realms where it is highly unwise to tread.

This is precisely why I've never been able to read the works of Drunvalo Melchizédek, the author and esoteric researcher who has extensively covered this subject.

Indeed, throughout history, the Traditions of Light have consistently spoken of the Merkabah, albeit under different names as the ages have unfolded.

The vessel, the ship that sails, serves as both the path and the ultimate destination. The Boat of Light stands as a symbol shared across various traditions, including the Cathars, whose Montségur Castle was known as Manisola, the Boat of Light. It represents the Noah's Ark of the last Atlanteans, the Viking longship, and the ancient Egyptian boat of Isis, among others.

In this journey, you are tasked with crafting your own vessel, your repository of wisdom. In ancient Egypt, it was believed that the boat of the sun had to be meticulously constructed by the initiate. In other words, it is your responsibility to create your own vessel—your vessel of immortality.

The symbol of the boat

The symbolism of the boat extends to the human sexes. It mirrors the portal through which new life enters the world. The body takes form within the womb, which is, in essence, the interior of the Boat of Light within every human being.

Furthermore, it's worth noting that the eye itself bears the shape of a boat, as does the mouth—the gateway through which the world-creating Word emerges. The eye encapsulates the mysteries of light and knowing, while the mouth carries the mysteries of sound and breath. In a similar vein, human sexuality harbors the mysteries of existence and its role in shaping earthly reality.

This forms a sacred trinity—seeing, hearing, and being—each an essential facet of human experience.

However, a screen of dark intelligence has been placed over humanity's sight, aimed at seizing our very being and actions. To control one's actions is to exert influence over their entire being, as every cause begets an effect, thereby perpetuating bondage and ensnaring humanity in darkness.

Symbol of the boat in Egypt

Behind these three doors—the eye, the ear, and the being that takes action—lie three disciplines that liberate humanity from the chains of dark forces: wisdom for the eye, love for the ear, and truth for the being. Truth, in particular, represents your actions. It's either these actions carry the divine essence of the world or sow the seeds of negation, distancing us from God and the invisible realms of the Covenant of Light.

Omraam Mikhaël Aivanhov has delved into this subject extensively through two books: "Truth, the Fruit of Wisdom and Love" and "La Deuxième Naissance - Amour Sagesse Vérité" (Ed. Prosveta).

Even before him, Peter Deunov imparted a profound rule: "Place goodness as the foundation of your life, justice as its measure, wisdom as its limit, love as its joy, and truth as its guiding light."

Throughout history, wisdom has been transmitted to humanity as a means to break free from the shackles of dark forces. This mission is evident in the teachings of figures like Moses, Buddha, and Jesus, all of whom carried the eternal tradition belonging to the Father and the Mother.

The eye must be emancipated from the grip of hypnotic influences. Light must penetrate the inner womb, fertilizing the soil of human consciousness. The womb signifies not only the place where the physical body originates but also where words are born. When a person speaks in alignment with the truth of their being, it emerges from their core, from their very essence.

Noah's ark and Isis' boat

In the wisdom of ancient Egypt, it was believed that the boat of the Sun, the vessel of Ra, had to be painstakingly crafted by the initiate. This signifies that it is humanity's responsibility to construct their own vessel using the higher teachings bestowed upon them by Tradition. They must gather all the essential elements to construct this vessel—a vessel that represents their life, their body of immortality.

The Ark stands as the symbol of the Covenant of Light and the preservation of the living tradition. Within it, all that is pure and eternal is safeguarded.

The Ark is, in essence, a body, a vehicle for transitioning from one era to another, from one world to another. Above the boat lies a grid, embodying the destiny of humanity and the Earth, as manipulated by a dark intelligence. Satellites are the tangible manifestation of an etheric reality that already ensnares the planet within the web of a subtle net, destined to grow denser over time.

This boat is concealed within the depths of humanity's inner being. The mesh is placed over their eyes, obstructing their vision.

Human beings enter this world through the womb, but it is through the eye that they are impregnated with knowledge and wisdom. The eye represents the lake or ocean of life, while the boat symbolizes the body—a guardian of cosmic wisdom. Humanity sails within themselves, bearing with them a world meant to evolve toward the exaltation of Light. If individuals forget their mission, they become diverted from their purpose, their raison d'être, and lose their inherent value. The world they were meant to infuse with vitality gradually fades into nothingness, as the path becomes obstructed, and evolution grinds to a halt.

There is a visible world surrounding you, one that engages your senses and awareness. Simultaneously, there exists an invisible world that cradles you, much like the sea envelops a boat. This unseen world also touches you and permeates you on a subtle level. It nourishes not only your soul but also your physical body.

If sensations, impressions, and perceptions are solely directed toward the physical body, they serve as sustenance for a dark intelligence. However, if this information reaches all the way to the soul, to the immaterial aspects of existence, it nurtures an intelligence of Light.

At this point, the inner eye opens, and the other world becomes apparent. Humanity begins to comprehend that they inhabit multiple realms and that their role is to unify them, similar to a plant extending its roots into the earth while reaching its stems towards the infinite. Human beings have their own roots extending into the external world, directing certain energies inward. Within, there exist other worlds, or even several worlds, in which they live to varying degrees of awareness. If they remain unconscious of this, they lose touch with the one steering their boat, the one holding the rudder of their destiny.

Currently, humanity's destiny has been altered by an opaque intelligence that has made pacts with certain individuals, malevolent deities, archangels, and corrupted angels. Through this infernal pact, some humans elevated themselves to the status of deities and gained control over humanity, animals, plants, and the Earth. They subjected everything to servitude, for their ultimate goal is domination, absolute mastery, but only on the material plane. What these architects of the pact fear is the radiance of life, divine intelligence. Consequently, their objective is to mechanize and robotize all aspects of existence, extinguishing every vestige of freedom to dwell in two worlds.

The Merkaba of Drunvalo Melchizedek

In the book cited in the footnote, O. Manitara, the last representative of the Essene Tradition, answers the following question:

"Olivier, what do you think of the merkaba practice proposed by Drunvalo Melchizedek?"

O. Manitara replies: "I'm not an expert on this character and his teachings. Manitara answers:

"I'm not an expert on this character and his teachings. All I can tell you is that he is not a visionary of the divine world. He's a man inhabited by a desire for the Light, but he doesn't know the laws of the divine world.

The technique he's developed is surely based on the right things, because that's how men always work, but the problem for a Child of the Light is that it's not in tune with the divine world and doesn't serve the projects of this world.

These techniques are at the service of a world of illusions that seeks to capture man. Of course, it'sa magnificent and beautiful world, but it doesn't lead to real liberation and fulfillment of man in the true light.

These techniques set in motion the trap of making man believe that he can live in another world while remaining a man. In fact, the idea is to make people believe that the divine world is at man's service and protects him whatever he does. But Essenes initiated into the wisdom of the sacred mysteries know that it is not only man who must place himself at the service of the divine in an impersonal and pure way, but that it is also man who must seek to take care of God and protect Him in life.

This false world nurtured by illusory spirituality appears after man's death and reveals itself as a shackle and an imprisonment. All is in appearance, and man finds himself limited by a false perfection, a beauty, a music that shackles souls and prevents them from ascending to the truly superior spheres. This world is the perfect side of everything man could wish for in his human life. This world is real, but it is false.

An Essene must know that the divine is not something to be wished for, for it is beyond all human concepts. Man must accept the fact that he does not know the divine world, and that to apprehend it, he must make the effort to step outside his sphere of human existence. Then, he must accept the divine as it is, and not as he, with his human concepts, would like it to be. It'sa whole lot of work, discipline and know-how.

Unprepared men think they're going into the realm of Light because they perceive a subtler world in which what man thinks, feels and wishes for perfection shimmers. The divine will never belong to a fixed form, for it is beyond the world of man, and yet it can descend into it if certain conditions are met."

I'm aware that this may come as a shock to some followers of Drunvalo Melchizedek's writings, because it's often difficult to think outside the box. So it's up to you to make up your own mind.

Merkaba star: the Merkaba and sacred geometry

Shapes, especially geometric ones, possess the remarkable ability to resonate and vibrate in harmony with the waves of the electromagnetic spectrum. They have the capacity to both reflect and emit a series of waves, not originating from the shapes themselves, but rather induced within them through interactions with the waves of the electromagnetic spectrum, particularly those of cosmic and telluric origin, while also considering the unique emissions from human beings.

Through extensive research, it has been determined that geometric figures, when properly oriented, can become charged and emit the Earth's magnetic flux. Furthermore, certain geometric or symbolic shapes have been found to be receptive to thought waves or abstract waves, which can be amplified and transmitted to a chosen recipient, functioning at a distance.

The Merkaba, a term synonymous with the star tetrahedron, is composed of two tetrahedrons, essentially pyramids with triangular bases, which interlock along the same vertical axis. When viewed from a different perspective, the Merkaba possesses eight vertices and is entirely enclosed within a perfect cube.

Solomon's seal sacred geometry

If you lay the Merkaba flat, i.e. in 2 dimensions, you'll notice the hexagram, also known as Solomon's Seal.

This symbol of sacred geometry represents a six-pointed star made up of two superimposed triangles.

A symbol of protection, the hexagram is a symbol of balance, uniting macrocosm and microcosm, heaven and earth, Father and Mother.

Exactly the same symbolism is found with the Merkaba: "What is below is like what is above, and what is above like what is below". This saying is found in Hermes Trismegistus' Emerald Table.

In his treatise "Hermetica", the author of the Emerald Table defines the Merkabah as "a field of light generated by the rapid rotation of specific geometric shapes - a double Solomon's seal - which simultaneously affect the body and mind of an individual."

Merkaba rock crystal: how to use it?

The Merkaba crystal, a sacred geometry crystal, has long been used as a powerful energy concentrate. It acts on 3 levels: physical, psychic and emotional. It enables access to certain planes of consciousness and brings great clarity.

The crystal Merkaba conveys a true source of energy and vital force. By design, it contains the 8 primordial cells of life.

It's a pleasant volume whose positive and negative polarities combine to balance ambient fields where energetic disorders reign.

The presence and use of a Merkaba crystal is designed to bring calm and tranquility. It is the ideal tool for meditation sessions, when it is placed in the center of the room.

It is a powerful symbol whose influence on healing and protection is beyond doubt (in the event of health problems, consult a doctor).

Merkabas are available in different materials and minerals (we also offer a Merkaba in obsidian, which promotes protection), but the one in rock crystal is special. In essence, rock crystal is the symbol of the radiant energy of white light.

Rock crystal captures and amplifies positive ambient energies, and filters out all negative waves, ensuring unparalleled purification of your environment. Programmed, it records your thoughts and wishes and connects them to the power of fulfillment.

As a result, the crystal combined with the Merkaba becomes a very powerful tool.

Using Merkaba for therapy

Merkaba therapy healing

The crystal Merkaba holds a significant place in therapy as a potent healing tool. This meticulously balanced tetrahedral geometric shape, characterized by its elevated vibratory frequency, plays a pivotal role in matters pertaining to the inner energies of the human being, particularly in terms of activation and intensification.

As a result, it is highly esteemed by practitioners who delve deeply into the manipulation of the body's energies, especially those involved in vibratory medicine.

Furthermore, the Merkaba exerts a direct influence on the human brain, fostering equilibrium and enhancing communication between the two cerebral hemispheres.

When you cradle this crystal star in the palm of your hand, you don't merely comprehend geometric fields on an intellectual level; you personally experience their profound effects.

Merkaba meditation: danger?

Merkaba meditation is indeed a form of meditation that combines specific breathing exercises, mudras (hand gestures), and visualizations rooted in sacred geometry. The focus of this practice is on activating the geometric energy fields surrounding the human body, and this activation is closely tied to one's breath. Merkaba meditation incorporates a unique breathing process along with mudras, which are essential for working with the Mer-ka-ba.

The term "Mudrâ" originates from Sanskrit and refers to codified and symbolic hand positions. Initially, there were nine Mudrâs, known as Buddha's Mudrâs, designed to signify various stages of the meditative process. Today, there are numerous Mudrâs, each believed to have beneficial effects on the body and mind by stimulating the reflex zones of the hands and fingers.

The Merkaba meditation practice involves 17 specific breaths to reach completion and build one's Merkabah. The initial six breaths aim to balance the polarities within the body's eight electrical circuits and cleanse these circuits. Subsequently, the following seven breaths serve to restore the proper pranic flow in the body and recreate spherical breathing patterns. The 14th breath is a unique and transformative step, shifting the balance of pranic energy from a 3rd-dimensional to a 4th-dimensional state of consciousness. The final three breaths are dedicated to reestablishing the rotating fields of the MerKaBa in and around the body.

The ultimate goal of Merkaba meditation is to reactivate the energy fields surrounding the body and elevate one's consciousness to higher levels.

However, it's important to note our cautionary advice against pursuing this meditation. Certain realms and states of consciousness are best left unexplored, as they can be disorienting and potentially harmful to one's mental and spiritual well-being. It's a reminder that not all paths of exploration are suitable for everyone, and discernment is essential when delving into esoteric practices.

Merkaba for protection and purification

Indeed, the Merkaba can be strategically placed in various areas of your home to purify and enhance the environment.

Many practitioners and specialists in this symbol advocate for placing the Merkaba in your living room. Doing so can create an immediate atmosphere of calm and tranquility, fostering a serene space where tensions are alleviated. Its powerful harmonizing and purifying properties help mitigate imbalances associated with the electromagnetic disturbances of modern life, thereby promoting a more balanced and harmonious living space.

Additionally, you can position your crystal Merkaba in your bedroom or place it under your pillow to facilitate falling asleep and set the stage for a restful night's rest. The Merkaba star is known for its protective and healing qualities, and its ability to allow energies to flow freely can be particularly beneficial in coping with stress, sadness, depression, and insomnia. It acts as an energetic support system, promoting overall well-being and mental equilibrium.

In brief: the benefits of using the Merkaba

- Raises the vital energy and vibratory level of the owner.

- Increases the vibratory level of food and liquids such as water and, through this process, modifies the molecular structure of the product next to or on top of the Merkaba.

- By bringing it into contact with the external water inlet tube, it raises the vibratory level of the water to the maximum, obtaining very pure water free of harmful substances, and also leaves the skin smooth and soft after a shower.

- Alters the vibratory level of the room it's in (up to 100 meters minimum, depending on the size of the Merkabah), making the air healthier and purer. Transforms air into a source of negative ions.

- Raises the vibratory level of quartz or potting soil or on land, providing better quality soil and growing healthy, vigorous plants.

- Merkaba eliminates various geopathies (Hartman lines, curry lines, sick building syndrome), cleansing and clearing homes and grounds of these problems.

You can also use your Merkaba star in other spiritual practices such as advanced reiki or even crystal grid building.

It works wonders when combined with crystal grids like the Metatron cube. As crystals are known to amplify intention, cleanse the chakras and raise vibrations, they combine wonderfully with the Merkaba star. Simply wearing or holding a Merkaba star can also surround you with healing light and remind you of your own intuitive power.

How to cleanse and purify your Merkaba

You can pass your crystal through incense smoke and recharge it in the sun or on a quartz cluster such as a geode or a piece of amethyst.

But honestly, there's a much more economical and practical solution for purifying and recharging your Merkaba: simply place it on a Metatron's Cube harmonizing disk (if you have a Flower of Life, this will also be ok). If you're not sure about the color, we recommend the 7-ray model.

These are our own creations, hand-printed in our workshop in the south of France.

How to activate the Merkaba?

I often get questions about how to activate the Merkaba (without the h). If you've followed the preamble on the 3 aspects of the Merkaba, you'll understand that activating the Merkaba is a red herring because, like all sacred geometry symbols, it doesn't need to be activated or recharged.

On the other hand, it is perfectly possible to place an intention on it to strengthen its radius of action.
